Within an hour of intake, intestinal peristalsis (strong movement of the bowel and intestine) accompanied by barborygmus (gaspassing) may occur.
Two to three hours later, you should probably feel like voiding your bowels. Initially, you may pass foul-smelling watery, black stools that smell foul as often as two or three times daily. After three to five days of continuous intake, your stools should once again become soft and normal-colored again and the frequency of your bowel movements and gas passing should return to normal.
